(Bishkek, Central Asia News Agency) During the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubayev met in New York with Mbae Mohamed, the head of the foreign affairs department of the Union of the Comoros. Following the talks, the two countries signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations.
According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the talks, Zheenbek Kulubayev expressed confidence that the establishment of diplomatic relations would create new opportunities for developing and strengthening bilateral relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Union of the Comoros. The two sides also discussed current cooperation issues, including strengthening political dialogue and cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
Both sides confirmed their interest in further developing friendly relations and expressed their willingness to work together to expand bilateral cooperation.
