(Central Asia News Agency) On the afternoon of September 23, 2026, Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council, met with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Kasymaliev in Hangzhou, who was visiting China to attend the 5th Global Digital Trade Expo.
Li Qiang stated that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two countries’ heads of state, China-Kyrgyzstan relations have forged ahead steadily and bilateral cooperation has entered a “golden period” of rapid development. Against the backdrop of rising turbulence in the international landscape and sluggish global economic growth, China and Kyrgyzstan, as good neighbours and good friends, should work more closely together and forge ahead hand in hand. China stands ready to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, earnestly deliver on the outcomes of the state visit by the heads of state, secure more progress in building a China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future, and bring greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
Li Qiang pointed out that China is ready to align its development strategies with Kyrgyzstan, continue high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, advance the sound growth of two-way trade and investment, push forward projects including the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway and port modernization, and continuously improve connectivity. China is willing to import more high-quality goods from Kyrgyzstan, encourage capable Chinese enterprises to invest in Kyrgyzstan, and expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital economy, green energy, finance and other fields. It is hoped that the two sides will conclude a high-level agreement on trade in services and investment at an early date. China also stands ready to strengthen people-to-people exchanges with Kyrgyzstan in culture, tourism, education, healthcare and other areas to consolidate the popular foundation for China-Kyrgyzstan friendship. The two sides need to enhance multilateral coordination, advance the implementation of the outcomes of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, further upgrade and strengthen the China-Central Asia mechanism, actively act on the four major global initiatives, and contribute more to world peace and development.
Kasymaliev spoke highly of the tremendous development achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. He noted that President Xi Jinping’s historic state visit to Kyrgyzstan not long ago has injected strong impetus into the comprehensive strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and China in the new era. Kyrgyzstan firmly adheres to the one-China principle. It stands ready to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state with China, deepen exchanges and cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity and other fields, and actively advance the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway to deliver greater benefits to the two peoples. Kyrgyzstan firmly supports the four major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, supports China’s initiative to establish the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization and the International Mediation Institute, and is ready to work closely with China on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the China-Central Asia mechanism to jointly promote global stability and prosperity.
